Confessions of a Teenage Leper review

Image

Confessions of a Teenage Leper is a novel about Abby, a girl that has everything. Perfect looks, perfect future, not-so-perfect brother, a spot in the cheerleading squad. Until Abby notices angry red patches forming on her skin. And her feet go numb. And she is losing her strength… Confessions of a Teenage Leper explores what it’s like for a teenager to be diagnosed with a crippling, life-long, and ultimately disfiguring illness. Abby must decide what is more important: beauty on the outside, or the beauty within? Although not very well-written, the novel will appeal to teens with its unexpected plot twists. 2 out of 4 stars

Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda

Jawa Timur: Penerbit Spring an imprint of Penerbit Haru. Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli is about Simon, a typical white boy high school student. A little nerdy and not quite in with the popular crowd, Simon still has many friends and gets along with everyone - leading to a seemingly perfect life. However, Simon has a secret. Simon is gay, and is in a quasi-relationship with a kid named Blue. Thing is, Blue and Simon have never actually met. Albertalli has created a world that many of American’s closested teens would recognize, without ever despairing too much about it. Poignant and funny, Simon vs. the Homo Sapien Agenda is a must-read for teens who don’t feel that they quite fit in. 4 out of 4 stars   William C. The Hunt Review

image:  the hunt andrew - Bing Fukuda, A. X. (2014).   The hunt . London: Simon & Schuster Children's. The Hunt by Andrew Fukuda is a fantasy sci fi novel about a young man, his designation Gene, who lives his entire life deceiving those around him that he is a vampire and not a “heper,” AKA a human. Gene must survive by emulating the vampire’s ways exactly and never, ever letting them get too close to smell them. However, when Gene is selected for a special “heper hunt” he is left to the mercy of his enemies…   Thrilling and fast-paced, The Hunt is a new take on young adult vampires. Instead of romanticizing or idealizing them, The Hunt’s vampires are frightening creatures right out of legend. Gene struggles to find his identity among creatures who would gladly brutalize and eat him. Teens will enjoy this horror/fantasy and will want to read the next two installments to find out how Gene’s story ends.   3 1/2 out of

Among Us Review

Image
image:  among us - Bing images  Bromander, M. (2018, November 16). Among Us [App].   Among Us is an online multiplayer game that has become popular with tweens and teens during the COVID-19 Pandemic. In the game, players are assigned the role of Crewmate or Imposters. The goal of the Crewmates is to complete tasks and find the Imposters; the goal of the Imposters is to hunt down and kill all the Crewmates. Simple in design and gameplay, Among Us is a fun way to interact with friends across virtual distances. It is reminiscent of Clue, but with a space-age twist. Teens will enjoy trying to find which of their friends has been assigned an Imposter, and parents will like that the simple design shows no gore or other sensitive sights. 3 out of 4 stars Award Date of ceremony Category Result Ref.
